This week we are featuring Alana Asbury, a Business Analyst here at Spud. But before we get into what Alana brings to our team, we’d like to give you some background information on her.
Alana was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but now resides in Clarkston, MI. She received a Bachelor’s of Science from Rochester College in Mass Communications/Broadcasting, and will be taking night classes in September to pursue a technical degree in software engineering.
Now the fun stuff. Alana runs a youth group and has a pet Chinchilla, who she named Layla after Eric Clapton’s famous song. She has a passion for her work as is involved with the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan where she helps plan the monthly Mobile Monday meet-up.
She enjoys traveling and her favorite vacation destination is Paris. She enjoys some occasional TV time, as her favorite show is My Name Is Earl and her favorite movie is The Goonies. When she’s not working hard in her office, she occasionally enjoys listening to anything classical rock.
How did she get started at Spud Software you ask?
During her time working at WDIV in Detroit as an assignment editor, she quickly noticed how the future of news was making its way to mobile devices and other digital platforms. From then on, she knew she wanted to head into a digital field.
She saw a great opportunity with Spud as they were looking for a French speaker to provide technical support, and Alana just so happened to learn French while living in France for 5 years. She is now a business analyst, helping clients work through the flow of their desired systems and identify ways to implement technology that would make their businesses more efficient. She loves her career and enjoys mostly the people that she works with.
