Spud in the News

We’re Having Fun with Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce’s After Hours Wine Down and Other Great Things!

We all need to take a time-out from work.
This Fall has been a good one for Spud Software with some great opportunities to blend hard work and a little bit of fun.

We're always looking for new ways to support our local community, especially local business owners and entrepreneurs. That's why we were excited that the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce chose Spud Software to host October's After Hours Wine Down event last Thursday.

Recognizing that everyone needs a time out from work sometimes, the Chamber set up the After Hours Wine Down program every fourth Thursday of the month. Local businesses host the event and provide complimentary hors d'oeuvres, soft drinks, wine and beer.

Chamber members are invited to participate in the exclusive, two-hour casual networking opportunity where they can connect in a relaxed atmosphere. There are no guest speakers, no door prizes or schedules to follow and members are encouraged to bring lots of business cards to share.

We also hosted the first ever Spud Software Chili Cook-off. There were 9 participants and voting was based on the total number of points earned for taste, consistency, and aroma. Our chefs had the opportunity to submit entries in one of four categories: Meatless, Spicy/Hot, White and Surprise Ingredient. Ted Metcalf was our winner. He's not only our resident ping-pong champion, but now our Chili-master with all of the associated laurels and bragging rights, as well as a gift card to Chili's. Way to go Ted!

We are looking forward to the month of November and all of the exciting things still to happen at Spud Software. The year may be winding down (have you heard any Christmas carols yet?) but we're still working hard to bring you the very best software solutions. If you have a project that you want to get done before the end of the year, give us a call.
